Must-Visit: Sydney's Best Ocean Pools

Header: Sydney's Best Ocean pools

Sydney’s stunning beaches are perfect for a cool-off on the weekend, or an early morning swim before work, but if you prefer lap-swimming to wave-dodging then ocean pools are perfect! Sydney has some absolutely beautiful ocean rock pools all along the coast from the northern beaches, down south towards Cronulla, and everywhere in between! Check out this list for our top 5 favourite ocean pools in the harbour city! Make sure to let us know your favourite ocean pools, and if we missed out on any great ones!

1. Fairy Bower Ocean Pool, Manly

One of the most picturesque spots in Sydney, the Fairy Bower, is a must-see for anyone visiting Sydney, or a weekend adventure for Sydney-siders. The beautiful pool is situated between Shelly Beach and the famous Manly Beach, so it’s perfect for a quick cool-off dip when walking between both. Grab a coffee from The Bower cafe and soak up the sun at this beautiful spot.

2. Icebergs, Bondi

It’s no secret that Bondi Icebergs is one of the most famous spots in all of Australia, with beautiful views of the infamous Bondi Beach, a rich history, and a beautiful restaurant overlooking the pool, Icebergs is definitely a must-visit. This pool tends to get quite busy in the summer, so check it out now in springtime for a more chilled vibe. We love doing the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk and finishing with a dip at Icebergs!

3. MacCallum Pool, Cremorne Point

So, not technically an ocean pool, but more a harbour pool, MacCallum Pool is picturesque and stunning. With uninterrupted views of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Sydney’s CBD skyline, this spot is popular with locals, and is known as one of the north shore’s best kept secrets. Bring a picnic to feast on in the park next to the pool, and cool off with a dip in the crisp harbour water.

4. South Cronulla Beach Rockpool, Cronulla

Down on the southern beaches, you can’t look past South Cronulla Beach Rockpool, which is perfect for a few early morning laps before work, or a cool-off dip in the afternoon. This spot is popular for families and is perfect for year-round enjoyment. We love grabbing a takeaway coffee from one of the great nearby cafes, and lapping up the Sydney sunshine.

5. Whale Beach Rockpool, Whale Beach

Right up far on the northern beaches, Whale Beach Rockpool is secluded and stunning. This beach is less crowded than other popular northern beaches, such as Mona Vale or Avalon, so it’s perfect for a family or anyone looking for a more quiet day at the beach. The stunning ocean pool is slightly smaller than some of the other’s around Sydney, so make sure to bring a towel to grab a spot. We love bringing some snacks and grabbing a sandwich at one of the close-by cafes to really make a day of it.

Sydney’s beautiful beaches are made even better with the stunning ocean pools scattered along the coastline. The calm water of the pools make it perfect for families or anyone looking for a more chilled day at the beach. Let us know where your favourite spots to swim at are around the country, or your favourite ocean pools!
